Toyota Cowboys

The program 'Cowboys Caring for Kids' is an initiative between the Toyota Cowboys and the Townsville Hospital Foundation.  Cowboys players visit the Children's Ward every six weeks to visit the sick kids and give them gifts to cheer them up.

This is of great benefit to our young patients who are enduring lengthy rehabilitation programs.  For all their hard work, the reward of meeting and chatting with the players is a great boost to the kids.

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland

Cystic Fibrosis provided funding to the Townsville Hospital Foundation for the purchase of a second Courtesy Buggy.   The two buggies provide a wonderful service for the hospital, busily transporting patients and visitors to and from their appointments.

Lions Club Townsville Castle Hill, Castle Hill Lions Ladies
and Rolfe Constructions

These three organisations kindly provided funding for the Townsville Hospital Foundation to purchase a Courtesy Buggy.  This buggy is seen regularly picking up patients and visitors in the carparks, who require transport to the front door of the hospital.  The buggy is also able to provide transport to and from Red Cross House, Ronald McDonald House, Leukemia House and other departments on campus.

Carmichael Ford Four

We are extremely lucky to have the continued support of Carmichael Ford. In 2004, Carmichael Ford donated a Ford Transit Van, to be used for the transport of patients to and from hospital. This has been a great success, helping timely discharge of patients whose length of stay would otherwise be longer due to a lack of access to transport. This van has stretcher facilities to increase the service’s usefulness.
